Wow. I can't believe that happened to you. Some people are so untrustworthy. I know a good company for wood doors is Nick's Building Supply.. They have a huge selection online and really good prices. Hope this helps you in the future.

I'm interested in installing a single sliding pocket door with the following criteria:

- Frameless and jambless finish. I want to retain the basic look of a plaster opening, without trim etc.

- The door needs to be a tempered, all-glass panel/plate from 3/8s to half-inch thick with only the hanger hardware concealed behind minimal trim at the top.

Can this be accomplished with your hardware and kits? If so, what exactly would I need to accomplish the job from start to finish? Which kit and what additional parts?

The closest that I've come is finding a kit from "portman pocketdoors" in the UK. Their web address is:

www(dot)portman-pocketdoors(dot)co(dot)uk/pocket-door-system/

Thanks in advance!

I recently purchased a pair of custom french doors for my 103 year old house. These doors cost me $1778.23. I received the doors, and called my buddies over to hang them. These 3 guys are all carpenters and said they would help me to hang the doors.
When I received the doors, they were too big..and inch off on both width and height. I was worried but my friends told me not to worry, they could do the work to make the doors fit. My friends went to do their work. They had to trim the doors down in order to make them fit. It was then that my friends called something to my attention. He said; "I thought you said that these doors were suppose to be maid of cherry wood?" I replied; "I did...hear look..thats what it says on the order too." He told me that the only thing cherry on these doors was a 1/8 inch thick laminate like covering over pine wood. They asked me again how much I paid for these doors..I told them..and they all said that I had been taken. They all suggested that I contact the Better Business Bureau...so I did.
I emailed Designer Doors, Inc and Interior Doors, Inc., but I've gotten no response yet..which only leads me to believe that they have been caught.

Please, don't let this happen to you. If you ask for a particular type of wood for your doors, make sure you ask just how the doors are made...I was told the reason my doors were so expensive was because of the type of wood I was using. Well...here is what was so expensive. If I could stack all the cherry wood on top of each other on my two doors, it would barely be thicker than a 2 x 4...there...thats what was so expensive...so don't let this happen to you.
I've already got the complaint ID back from the Better Business Bureau..so I'll try to let you all know what happens.
